OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to health care that strives to balance all the systems of the body, and provide overall good health and well-being.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy focuses on strengthening the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.

Osteoopathic manipulative treatment is hands-on care. It involves using the hands to treat and prevent illness or injury. During osteopathic therapy your muscles and joints are moved using techniques including stretching, gentle pressure and resistance.

There are many different types of osteopathic techniques which are built upon the osteopathic philosophy of restoration or organic and non-organic movement to allow the body’s structure to operate with maximum capability and restore lost functions. Freedom from restriction allows the body’s own healing mechanisms to bring about deep and lasting healing.
